Adopting our Mini F1 Bernedoodle from Central Illinois Doodles was a great decision, especially for first time owners!
I wanted to wait to post an honest review until I was confident that CID was the right choice for us. Frank (formerly Blade) is now a little over 7 months old, and he is in great health, has a wonderful disposition, and he is so handsome!
After a lot of research, CID stood out as a breeder that shared our values and approach to raising a happy and healthy puppy. There were several positive reviews, John’s transparency was refreshing, and we appreciated his diligence in the screening process.
John made the entire process very easy and smooth. He is knowledgeable, patient, caring, and he provided us with helpful tips and resources.
When we arrived to pick up Frank, we were impressed by the facility being so spotless and spacious. We had plenty of time to meet and get acquainted with our new puppy. We even got to meet his mother Bella, father Rev, and his siblings!
The transition to our home was easy for our pup. He adjusted fairly quickly and has been learning so fast. He socializes well with other animals and people, has a great temperament, is very playful and loving, and he has such a cute and funny personality. We couldn’t have asked for a better pup!

Thank you Central Illinois Doodles! Our puppy is absolutely adorable! He is now 3.5 months. He is a healthy, smart little boy and has picked up on training quickly. Our experience with John at CID was incredible.
John was always prompt in responding to my many questions both before and after picking our little guy up. The facility at CID is impressive. It is clean and spacious. CID does a great job socializing their puppies so the transition to a new home is a smooth one.
We were provided with some great literature about raising a puppy. We also received links to essential puppy products so I knew I would have the right size crate, bowls, toys when we brought our puppy home. I would definitely recommend Central Illinois Doodles to anyone looking for a puppy!

CID is a fantastic breeder organization. Since day 1, my wife and I have been very impressed with them. John the owner is extremely knowledgeable in the breed. His facility is clean, spacious and loving. He vets his clients and makes you sign legal documents to ensure the puppies are going to stable homes. John has been very accessible throughout the entire process and makes you feel at ease; his attention to detail is outstanding.
Currently, my puppy Kaya is a little over 5 months old. Her breed and genetics exemplify her intelligence. She was fully potty trained 3 weeks into bringing her home, picked up on the majority of tricks (sit, paw etc) within the first week.
She’s had no health issues since birth. Beautiful coloring. She’s active enough but doesn’t need to be overly exercised like other breeds. For the factors that John could control, she is the perfect puppy. My wife and I look forward to all the future years with her! I would recommend CID to any serious dog owner looking for a mini Bernedoodle.

I just want future puppy owners to know how happy and grateful we are for such a sweet Mini Bernedoodle Zoey – aka Primrose from Central Illinois Doodles. She’s almost 6 months old now!
John was responsive with our phone calls, questions and concerns before and after taking her home. You know he cares about you being happy, as well as, the dogs he breeds when talking on the phone and in person. This is definitely not a person that over breeds.
John was very organized & called us to verify we were close to their home to pick her up. He gave us instructions in case we missed the house since it’s easy to miss. John & Zoey were outside waiting for us when we arrived. He gave as a tour of the immaculate nursery, met the parents, and other puppies. He didn’t rush us out & answered additional questions since its been a while since we have had a puppy.
She did well in the car 3 hour ride back to her new home outside Chicago. His suggestion for her to sit in the the back seat with me and when my husband drove was good information so it was less likely for her to get car sick.

For all those looking for bernedoodle breeders to adopt a puppy from, you have come to the right place! Central Illinois Doodles is an outstanding Illinois Bernedoodle Breeder. John is knowledgeable about his dogs and cares for them well. I live in central Iowa and had many questions before putting my deposit down. John answered my calls and we did a video call so I could see the conditions and puppies ahead of time which was important to me. I had researched and spoken to many different breeders prior to finding John and everyone had a waiting list from 6 – 18 months! We had just lost our Terrier after 15 years and were looking for a Bernedoodle puppy now. John’s solution is when the puppies are close to 8 weeks, he makes them available online for reservation. No leaving a deposit for a year in hopes a puppy becomes available. I was so grateful to Central Illinois Doodles for doing this! We are over the moon with our little Bernedoodle, Louie Snoopy Peanuts (may have had help from my granddaughter naming him)! He’s the talk of the town too! I was impressed with John’s willingness to be in communication and answer any questions. The thing I love most about my F1B bernedoodle pup is how social she is with all people and other dogs – the Jess family does a great job in the early socialization process. We absolutely adore Dude and thank Central Illinois Doodles for giving us such an amazing Bernedoodle puppy! Our experience was great with the choosing process- from updated photos every 2 weeks on the website, to fun videos on Instagram- we felt like we could get to know the puppies. Then when it came to choosing day, John was great showing us the puppies we had in mind via video chat and his enthusiasm talking about the puppies with us made it so much fun. We chose Dude, the pup formerly know as Brady from Diamond and Bo, and so far John has been spot on saying he has more Berner in him than Poodle, which we love! Since Dude came to us at 8 weeks via cargo to NYC, he has been so good with potty training, crate training, children, and other dogs. We could not love him more! Just one warning though- we get stopped everywhere we go, every potty break we’re on for people to comment how cute and nice he is!!

We purchased our beloved Jesse ‘formerly Fido’ from Central Illinois Doodles. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better addition to our family. He is the perfect combination of playful and snuggly. Potty train was a breeze. (As breezy as potty training can be) We started kennel training the day we brought him home. The first few nights were rough but by the end of the first week he slept in his kennel throughout the night, 9:30pm to 5:00am, without so much as a whimper. He is a very happy go lucky guy, he loves cats, other dogs and anything he lays eyes on. He’s never offer a growl or any sort of aggression. He does Not shed a single bit, which was never a deal breaker for us but definitely a plus! When we were searching for our new fur baby, it was a stressful journey. Once I came in contact with John Jess from Central Illinois Doodles I knew I would be purchasing our new puppy from him. He was exceptionally thorough when talking about his dogs, previous litters, and how he did business. He answered all my annoying little questions promptly. Worked with my on scheduling a pickup date because he knew I was traveling a couple hours and it was winter. When I picked Jesse up, his wife was extremely friendly. She answered a few more questions I had and she was very kind to my hooligans (4 kiddos that rode with me to pick Jesse up). Their kennel set-up was extremely clean and well taken care of! (HUGE PLUS!) And the dogs and other puppies all seemed happy and healthy! So if you’ve made it this far in the review, I highly recommend Central Illinois Doodles as they are the best Bernedoodle Breeders in Illinois!
